The Goblin Tale

Creative Chef Eliot Ritchie is passionate about serving fresh produce and exceptional coffee. His experience spans restaurants and cafes in Sydney’s CBD and Inner West including Longrain, Onde, and Revolver, as well as a sojourn in London. But, it was his love for the cafe lifestyle that saw the Sloane Street premises become a little Goblin in June 2012.

In May 2017 Eliot heads abroad for his next venture in New York. The Cafe is in safe hands with Restaurateur Meng Sun taking the reins.

Located on the residential side of Summer Hill train station, Ritchie’s focus has always been on the community experience a residential cafe can bring. With the gentrification of the local area, he decided it was time for Goblin Cafe to mature (and let the good times continue!)

The Concept

The concept behind Goblin Kitchen & Bar ensures signature cafe meals continue by day, with the space transforming to offer a European-style cafe, food, and wine pairings, as well as other themed experiences.

A space that provides a seasonal menu, complimented by great coffee, a succinct local wine list, all with the intention to be enjoyed among friends. Goblins are, after all, social creatures.

The cafe is available for private functions and special events. Consider us for your next celebration, business meeting, birthday party and/or as a space for any other reception booking.

Goblin Kitchen & Bar is your local on the other side of the tracks. Come and play!
